Early Years

Welcome to Early Years!

Come back soon to find out all about this year's topics

Why not have a look below to see what we were up to last year

Our topic last year was traditional tales. Through the summer term we read The Enormous Turnip and Jack and the beanstalk. Through the year the children planted and grew their own vegetables so that they could see how plants grew and what they need to grow. We looked closely at objects and pictures to do observational paintings and drawings. We also looked at story settings, the characters and retelling the stories with the use of puppets and props.

Our nursery rhymes last term were…

The Turnip grows Enormous

Pull the Turnip

Sharing Turnip

Yellow Submarine

One little Cockerel

There’s a spider on the floor

Leg over, leg over

Sing a song of six pence

There was a crooked man

Oh where oh where
